Right Click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Adjust for Best Performance, this brings back the Windows98 and 2000 look but speeds the computer up, alot of unloading of graphics, helps on memory problems too.
2. Right Click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Error Reporting, click on Disable Reporting, But notify me of critical errors, this will stop the annoying screen that pops up when IE Crashes or other Windows Programs, and it also stops Windows from communicating with Microsoft Behind your Back, and there are many of these sneaky conversations..
3. One More: Right Click Desktop, Properties, Appearence, Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts, Dropdown this menu, and choose Clear Type. This will improve the display of fonts and other things better than the previous way.

Define improve. Make it run faster? Make it easier for you to use? Make it more like Windows '95?
The simple answer is: learn how to correctly use it. Configure your system through the control panel, the individual dialog boxes and system wizards, and the overall management tools.
Generally, your OS is only as useful as the programs you choose to run. For example, you don't browse the internet with Windows, but with Explorer, Firefox, etc.

Usefulness is in the eye of the beholder, so don't expect much help.
Try turning your PC off and don't bother turning it back on again until you learn to be civil to others. That would be useful to all the people here who have to suffer your bad temper.
