The charge indicator does not come on and I have tried two different usb cables. The Palm does charge with the A/C adaptor. The usb port works with other devices.

First copy your username folder onto your computer desktop. Then perform a Hard Reset (you will lose all data on your palm). then uninstall and reinstall the palm desktop and do a first sync with an empty palm and a new username. if this works you can import and export all data from your old username into your new username folder.

(im not responsible for losing any data with these steps)

I would try a different USB port on your computer. If that fails, check the settings on the Palm Desktop software, and make sure the sync settings are accurate.

I fairly have the palm centro too and my telephone is caught on the hotsync demonstrate so i won't be able to answer calls (it is going suited to voicemail) and provide or obtain texts. I fairly have it for at&t.
