Accounting or Finance, and if I had to pick, probably accounting.

You can always go back and get an MS or MBA in Finance, whereas the accounting degree can get you a great job from the start.

The best business major is the one that fits you. Because no matter what the results are for salary and availability if you don't like it you won't do well, if you don't do well then your salary won't increase.

If you are really good with people and can sell well then Sales would be the best for Salary comfort and availability.

Accounting is also good since there is a shortage of good accountant out there- CPA's or not. But Sales usually command a much higher salary. In sales your salary is usually dependent upon your performance, where as in accounting it is usually fairly good, and stable, not as volatile.

I would have to say a accounting everybody needs an accountant and it pays okay if you are a CPA.

I have an MBA Finance, but decided to take the CPA because if I ever lose my job I would be able to find one pretty quickly with a CPA designation.

A non-business major. Try medicine, everyone is getting old, sick and dying. Trust me.
