When you are old enough to show responsiblilty (that is what most moms are going to be looking for. I don't mean it offensively at all, just that if she knows you can be responsible, she may let you).

I think that you should go as long as possible without putting make-up on, the natural look is always better. Really I don't know that I would specify a certain age as much as a certain maturity level. Girls that want to start wearing make-up are getting into so much more then just make-up. They are beginning to want boys to notice them too. If you want your mom to let you wear make-up then go to her tell her your wishes, ask her to help you apply it , and if she still says no, ask her what her concerns are with you wearing make-up ( woman to woman) that would get her attention. Chances are if your mom is anything like me, she would be delighted in the fact you are asking her opinion and want her help. Whatever answer she gives you , respect it and she will come around sooner. Be careful about how and when you approach her. Make sure she isn't already worked up over something else and just tell her you would like to sit and chat with her about something important to you.

I think I started wearing make up when I was 10 or 11. I didnt wear eyeliner though, until I was about 12. I have worn blush since 5th grade, because I am so pale that if I don't, teachers ask me if I am sick, and if I want to go to the nurse. Now I am 14 and a half, and I wear eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, lipgloss, concealer, and sometimes foundation, powder, and mascara. Try to act responsible, and don't wear make up unless you really know how. If your mom lets you, try experimenting on the weekends, when you don't have to go anywhere. Act mature, and don't whine if your mom says no. That will just show that you are not mature enough to wear makeup.

My daughter is now 25. She didn't start wearing make up until she was 16 and then it was just lip color. As I told her before then, she was beautiful with a natural look and shouldn't wear make up until she absolutely had to do so. She still doesn't wear much makeup and is still beautiful. Unfortunately, I see too many young girls with makeup caked on them. Too much can ruin your skin and cause you to break out. Girls wearing makeup at an early age can also cause guys to think they are older than they are. Listen to your Mom! Your Mom knows you better than anyone else. Your Mom loves you and is looking out for your best interest, whether you realize that or not.
Good Luck!

at age 15 or so.
Feed her a line..."Oh mom I love how you do your make-up... can you show me how sometime?"
This way she will think of it as good bonding time, plus she might have good tips.
After the facial, comment on how great you think you look, and again feed her a line about how much more confident and beautiful you feel and tell her that you would like to continue wearing it. In essence, make her think that you are wearing the makeup for YOU. Actually, that should be the only reason you do wear it!!
Good luck!!

I am telling you honestly that I started wearing lip gloss at 11 1/2 and im currently 13 and my mom lets me do watever I want with make up cuz she knows i wont go over the top with it plus i always wash my face so i dont have heavy acne. but sometimes i go natural to show her myself and everyone else i am beautifull naturally.
Now about the asking watever you do dont say that other peoples moms let them or something. Just sort of bring it up in a happy moment when you two are alone and can really talk. ask her to let you wear something very basic and once you have shown her that you mastered that show her that you can master everything else. Just remeber to keep it natural so you wont look like a clown.

my mom let me get my ears peirced and wear makeup after i got my first period. thats when she said i really became a woman. As long as you are tastful about wearing makeup and dont go overboard then i don't see why your mom should say no. maybe just some powder and a little eyeliner and shiny lip gloss. you would be surprised and how much of a change just a few light products will make!
Good Luck!
