No, it is NOT fixed.
Think about it. If it were fixed, the big market teams (Chicago, New York, Miami, Dallas) would be perennial contenders, and small market teams would regularly be at the bottom of the barrel (as is the case in baseball). Having the big market teams stomp on everyone would greatly help with TV ratings and merchandise sales.
In recent years, we've had Pittsburgh, New England, Tampa, Baltimore and St. Louis win it all. New England I guess you could argue is a big market team (since they are close to Boston), but the others are from relatively small markets. Favre would not have played for Green Bay in his prime.
Bottom line, no pattern to suggest a conspiracy. Baseball is looking like it's fixed, but not the NFL.

Not fixed, although some games sure have looked like it. Watch Superbowl 30 to see a game that LOOKED fixed. To those STILL crying about the refs from last years Superbowl try watching the whole game so you see the bad calls from BOTH sides. Like that fumble that was taken when the Steelers should have got the ball among others. Only call you can argue was Hassleback wasn't blocking low or whatever they called it.

Not a chance. Fixing an industry like the NFL would be completely unfavorable to everyone. If it was fixed, everything that everyone involved in the NFL is doing would be meaningless.

I guess it depends on your definition of 'fixed'. It is as far as tougher chuck rules and making the passing game more effective, so that more people watch it for the offense.
I think the league is fixed because the best players don't play (Matt Schaub is a better Qb that Mike Vick, but Vick puts A$$E$ in seats, therefore Vick is the starter)

I don't think so but that's my buddy's pet conspiracy theory. He rants about it all the time. I do agree with one of the other posts that said that there's just too much money involved for the principal investors not to want to exert some sort of control over the product.

In a word: NO!!!!!!
Now if you want to talk about MLB being fixed, I'll listen. (Juice the ball and let players juice. More homers. Just what the game needed to boost attendance after the '94 strike.)

No....... it's not fixed...the owners of the teams need to win to pay the large amounts paid out to the players, pay for the other personnel, pay for the new stadiums, and make a profit for the owner...
"O" Wise one says...... it takes lots of money...

I don't think so. How could someone keep that quiet for so long. There is no way and I know it doesn't happen.
