If you can't return it to its mother, puppy formula (Esbilac is the brand we use) is what to feed it. Make dam* sure not to get any in its lungs or it will die. The best way to feed it is to keep the squirrel upright and use a dropper to put a little bit at the corner of its mouth. DO NOT force the food in! Let the animal eat on its own.

The formula should be about body temperature.

Baby squirrels will need feedings about every 2-3 hours round-the-clock. Give it as much as it will eat.

You may, if it is very young, need to stimulate it to pee and poop (no joke). Gently rub the underside near the tail while holding the critter carefully in a towel.

Keep the squirrel warm.

Check for flea infestation. Fleas can suck the life right out of a baby like that.

If there's a licensed rehabber nearby, give them a call or perhaps your local vet can help.

Baby squirrels can be really tough to keep alive.

Good luck to you and the baby.

You can't just keep it. Squirrels aren't domestic animals, and even if you figured out what to feed it it could still get sick and die if you try to care for it yourself. Call animal control or at least take it to a vet... they'll know what to do with it. It should be released back into the wild.

I would contact a rehabilitator. You can care for it yourself, but he wont be able to be released back itno the wild. They live for one year in the wild (normally), and up to 14 years in captivity!! Still, you need profesional help (it may be illegal in your state/country too). They must be fed every two to three hours if there eyes are not yet opeaned(even during night). I cant tell you everything, but this website shure can! http://www.arfsc.homestead.com/Squirrels.html GOOD LUCK!!

She extra beneficial than possibly didnt nurse them... she tried to yet no longer milk got here out and the toddlers sucked besides attempting to get milk. it somewhat is definitely large nevertheless that the motherly insitnct takes over like that. in case you will save those toddlers study up on look after them and then bottle feed them... even take them to a vet.

Call a game warden so they can call a wildlife rehabilitater. This is a wild creature, not intended to be a pet.

Take it to a wildlife center! Why would you feed it puppy formula?
