Are standardized tests like the SAT and ACT a reliable predictor for academic success?

for the most part yes. performing well in either or these tests will generally lead to believe that they will perform well in their future studies. not 100% accurate obviously but close enough.

Only in the sense that if you don't do well on them you don't have the chance to do well (or poorly) in college.
