There was nobody I knew in the cafeteria or at least no one I was friends with, so I ended up sitting all by myself, but it was embarrassing and I felt like everyone was staring at me and laughing at me. What should I do?

Hold your head up with a smile on your face, look for a table that has a few friendly faces and ask if you can join them...introduce yourself and ask them questions about themselves. People love to talk about themselves! And if it doesn't go well...keep doing this everyday, and you are bound to find someone compatiable with! Good luck!

Tomorrow in the hall or sometime when you get the chance tell someone who looks open and nice how you feel and ask if you can eat lunch with them . That is the hardest part , most people will understand . If one doesn't then pick your self up and go on to the next VICTIM ! just kidding about victim. Try not to worry too much . I'm sure you will make lots of friends!

Well, I had the same problem, just a week ago. I felt like I had no friends and got really depressed. I even went home crying. But I decided to talk to people at the table I sit at, and now I"m not so lonely anymore. There's at least three people at my table sitting by themselves. Find one of them at your table and start talking. You'll both be unbelievably happy feeling like you are not alone.

Awww... that's normal. Believe me. You may feel that you are alone in this but you're not. You'll find that you will start making friends and eventually be eating with other kids. Maybe you could ask one of the kids in your class if they would like to have lunch together or if you could join them. Don't be too shy to ask... once the ice is broken then it's easy to become friends!

Give it some time, it's only the first day of school. You'll make new friends in no time.
