Are there section 8 housing in either state?

If you already have a Section 8 voucher, depending on the rules of the Housing Authority you're in, it should be transferable to any other state.

To see what's available in any state you can look up what is available at the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) web site. The driect link about renting is: http://www.hud.gov/renting/index.cfm

Depending on the area, there are sometimes very long waiting lists.

Good luck!

Boise has a LOT going for it. The local economy is fairly good, it's the state capital, generally good weather with low humidity, plenty of recreational opportunities.

I'd definitely look there as a potential retirement locale. Housing is not expensive.

And when you get hungry and thirsty, be sure to try the Crescent Bar and Grill. Unless you're a lawyer, then stay away. But I would not think that a lawyer would be asking about Section 8 housing, right?
