No matter what the problem is, your car is old! Older cars, especially Fords, start having alot of problems when they get old, and once you get one problem, you will begin to have many more because that other problem probably caused damage to other things when you didnt notice it. Anyways, it will cost you more to fix it than the car's cost once all of those things start breaking down, so start looking for a new car, and dont take this one on long trips.

Not to sound like a bigot, but lady, the first two pieces of what you called your vehicle is your problem. A lot Fords before 2000 and after 1990 had one major problem or another rolling off the line, and if not then, they developed one. If you insist on Ford, get a new one, but not a truck, because lately the cruise control switches have been staying on and causing them to burst into flames and burning both the truck and the garage, sometimes getting the house, and Ford has been paying through the nose in insurance.

It can be a number of things (vacum leak, bad O2 sensor, or needs a tune up) if it only does it after driving it for a while I would say you just need a tune up. If the plugs are fouled out then the coils are having to work harder to make a suffecient spark. Which inturn creates more heat and heat is the enemy. The coils will shut down and cause the engine to die. Either that or O2 sensor. Take it into a dealership and run a diagnostic they will tell you what the exact reason

well i kinda need more information...how many miles are on the truck...whens the last time it was tuned up or the fuel filter was changed....if there is a check engine light on when it dies you will need to have it scanned, there may not be any current codes but have them pull the history...this may point you in the right direction to correct the problem...good luck

When it happens do you get a check engine light that comes on? If it does I would expect an oxygen sensor. If not, it could be any of a number of mechanical, electrical or fuel related problems.

it sounds like a fuel problem it is possibly the fuel filter, or pressure regulator. you should have someone check ypur fuel pressure with a gauge. some parts place can do this for you. my best guess is the filter. i am a former ford mechanic and have seen this alot.

it might be the ignition because most Ford cars have been getting recalls about problems with the ignition.
