finally, I got why my darn pinter wasn' workin: the cartridge was empty (yeah, i know... b-l-o-n-d-e). So when I went to buy more ink, I had to pay $22 for that one little thing. And i just wander, if there are other brands of cartridges (chiper ones) that my printer could work with.

there may be some aftermarket cheap versions but they are not recommended for they could damage your printer.

Unfortunately, Lexmark is notorious for having printers that only their cartidges are compatable with. I know, my cartidges are nearly 70 bucks, and they don't even last a year. But I tried the cartidge refill kit, and it didn't work and was very messy. Sorry.
