There aren't many weak points in that team...and you want to talk about depth on defense....Every player has a guy behind them that is capable of starting for some teams in the league, especially on the offensive line. Behind the starting corners we have a 2nd round draft pick and a CB that played with Carolina in the SuperBowl back in 2003..he picked off Tom Brady. Safety they have Shaun Williams and Minter with capable backup Branch if one should get hurt, and lets not for get Thomas Davis who used to be a safety, he can fill in if needed. But he plays OLB now with Morgan, Diggs, Adams, and Draft.
Offense...Delhomme is severely underrated by people and that's all good...Keyshawn Johnson added...Steve Smith back from a stellar season...Keary Colbert finally healthy, and super fast Drew Carter finally making himself known as well. Foster and Williams in the back field...not to mention Goings who started many games in 2004 because of injuries, he's capable of starting also. Carolina doesn't use TE's very much other than blocking, and even there we have a few guys that can make plays...Micheal Gaines had a game winning TD last season and is improving his game, should be interesting. If there is one problem with the team it would be depth at QB...Delhomme is good and rarely hurt....but behind him is a rookie, and a guy that led Carolina to a 1-15 season in 2001...neither are good starters for this football team.
Carolina will make a run at Home Field Advantage and probably have some success in the playoffs....time will tell...Go Panthers.

I would love to say that the Panthers are going to the Super Bowl, and if they make it they are doing it in spite of the running game. It is too finesse meaning there is to much PULLING, CRACKING and TRAPS.
I think the running game should be more like the Steelers, what good is a fullback in this offense who can not take on a linebacker, or the Falcons and Broncos.
Other than that or an injury to Jake Delhomme they should get far.

I think that they will go the the NFC championship game before losing to the bears....and after the bears win the NFC championship game, they will lose to the Colts in the Super Bowl.

If their running backs can stay healthy, they should win the NFC South and contend for the NFC's Super Bowl berth.
