If someone acts a bit overly 'black'--be they black or white or asian, etc., is that a disadvantage to them in society? will it hinder them from employment, education? ....are they reenforcing a negative stereotype?

Yes, it is EXTREMELY obvious when a white person is trying to act "black". It is an extreme disadvantage that makes one appear (no matter what color) uneducated, from the streets, unapproachable, and unhirable.

Yes! It's very obvious when a white person tries to act "black." The reason is because some white people (and other races) have very negative, distorted views of how blacks act. They rely on the media, music videos and other stereotypes to protray us, which is often inaccurate. So when a person of another race, wants to immitate us, they embellish it A LOT. Sometimes, it is very embarrasing. I've known people of other races, who act, dress and sound more BLACK (or what they believe is black) than I could ever!!!! It's actually pretty scary. I realize that imitation is the best form of flattery, but jeeeeeez! If you like our style and you're going to imitate, get it right. Not all black people are "ghetto." There are many nice, hardworking, highly educated blacks, who do not use broken English or slang and who have always used excellent grammer.

I think everyone can tell when a whitey acts black...we call them wiggers. Obviously they're not satisfied with themselves. Anyway, it shouldn't hinder employment or education if they look professional enough, or if they actually want to get a little more educated. They only negative stereotyping they made for themselves is 'wigger' and fricken idiots. They don't effect the stereotyping for the black race in my opinion.

OMG what number circumstances is this going to be asked? appearing white has no longer something to do with training or style or any of that. appearing white potential people who hate on their own race to objective and fit in with white human beings. it is what you would be doing now, in case you weren't truly a white guy at the back of a black avatar.

To act "black" when you are white or asian is just dumb. Watch the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond when Robert hangs out at the clubs with his black partner. It is whack. lol.

acting black means behaving as a stereotypical black person. I know lots of blacks who do not "act" that way, but they are no less black. the whole label of acting black is a deregatory term and it does enforce stereotypes by stating that blacks act a certain way. my daughters teacher is black, but is very educated and she said people always tell her she "acts white". so apparently, acting "black" means acting ignorant which is not good, but the term itself is the problem

It depends on the place you live in. If you live in a African American neighbor, then nobody would care....
