I just went to the doctor today and she said my cervix is 60-70% thinned out and I was dialated to 2. I know you have to be 100% thinned to push but when you get that far will you dialate more or can you stay at two

Your cervix has to both efface (ie thin out) and dialate in order to deliver. You didn't say if this is your first baby or not but first timers usually thin out before they really start to dialate. You really don't have to be 100% effaced to deliver, though first timers usually are. Mothers who have delivered before may only get to 80 or 90% before they deliver. You do have to fully dialate however, to 10 cm in order to deliver.
So to answer your question, you should dialate more. It is unlikely that you will get stuck at 2cm, but it is possible to get stuck later (say at 6cm or more). That is called arrest of dilation but too much info for now.

You will not stay at two as the baby lowers and naturally pushes himself out you start dialating. This can take a week or hours. You can be dialated to 2 for a week and it is not dangerous. The dangerous part is when your water breaks, you need to get to the hospital, your baby has less than 24 hours to get out or he will asphyxiate.Do lots of exercise, like going up and down stairs, walking this will help you dialate the natural way. You are almost there Good Luck and get ready to meet the little person who is going to change your life!!

I was dialated 4 cm and almost 100% thinned with my third child and was another 2 weeks before I delivered. It could be a while, be patient lol the baby will come when it wants to come. But for sure you know it won't be long now. Good luck.

Even though you could get to 100 effaced you could still stay dialated at 2 for weeks. It just depends on when labor starts then you could jump from a 2 to 10 in hours.

You have to be dialated to 10cm and 100% thinned to push. I went to the doctor on fri am and they told me I was 50% efaced and 2cm dialated. They said dont get too excited you can stay at 2cm for weeks... 5 hours later I was holding my 8lb 11 oz baby boy!!! With my first, I spent 3 weeks at 2cm.

Good Luck with the last leg of your pregnancy and labor!! Its an experience you'll never forget and anytime you get a chance to talk about it you will. Take Care.

You have to dialated to 10 to push out the baby or you can really hurt yourself.
