It depends more on what point in your claim you won and how long it takes to write and send the decision to your local office. Check with them and see how long it might take. I have known cases where claimants have received checks with no notice. If you are financially strained, you may be able to get a sort of advance. Depends on a lot of factors. Check with your local SSA office.

It took my dad a month or two before he recieved his back pay.
It really depends on the individual case. When you were initially turned down, you had the option of getting SSI why you fought your case. If you took that option, you won't get any back pay because they've already paid you. If you had a lawyer, usually they collect their fees out of the back pay owed to you, so you might get less.

I suppose it might be different state to state, though from what I understand, the longest they can take is 6 months, and no longer.

When I got it for my daughter, I had it in less than a month. It does vary state to state, though. Congratulations.....
