when i was 16 i moved in with my grandmother. i was just kinda of a problem child not doing good things so we(my parents and I) decided i should move in with my grandmother(60-65 miles away from parents). it was horrible. then i graduated at 18 and moved out of my grandmother's house and moved to a different town for college. i'm now 20 still living in a different town then my parents i of course visit them as often as i can.but i wish i wouldn't have been such a big idiot. i wish i coulda lived with my parents my last teen years instead of with my evil gramma. i guess when your a teenager in highschool you know everything. but i would definatley go back and change the way i acted just so i coulda lived with my parents. that's pretty much the only thing i regret in my whole life.

I was orphaned at 11 so after 3 years of being sent here and there to live amongst relatives I got pissed off and found a room to rent at age 14. I was able to stay in school and work odd jobs until age 16. At 16 I moved from Michigan to Arizona. Loved it. I had my own apartment and I worked two jobs to keep it but it was mine. The only thing I'd do different is that I might have stayed in Arizona instead of moving to Florida. That was my big mistake. I left Arizona to marry a man I divorced 3 years later. But everything is good now. I'm remarried with kids. So maybe I left Arizona to come here for a reason. Now I have to wait for my kids to graduate so I can go off again. But as far as waiting to leave...I didn't have a choice. I left to preservemy sanity and dignity.

At 15. I worked in construction, mostly mixing cement and carrying cement blocks, and paid my fare to the mainland and put myself through high school (forged a lot of letters, too) and worked part time to support myself, pay rent for my furnished room, pay for my meals, transportation and other necessities.
I didn't like some of the things happening at home; I got tired of being the scapegoat and second dish.. I felt that I was man enough to take care of myself.
Would I do it over again? Yes, but sooner!

18. I married my high school sweetheart and was a widow by the age of 21. (cancer) I never moved back home but could have had I wanted. I've always been an independent person so living with my parents because it was the easy thing to do wasn't an option for me.

The fist time I left home I was 17. It was definitely the right choice. Of course I wish that my home was an invironment that I could have stayed in longer, but that just wasn't the case. Maybe next lifetime.

Not counting away for college, 25. I saved and bought a house before moving out. I was working 70 hour weeks. It didn't matter much where I slept.
It's not very exciting, but was very practical.
