Does anyone know how much land area is east of the Mississippi River?

I better get best answer. I sat here for fifteen minutes adding up all the state territories east of the Mississippi.

Do you mean area in the US? Plenty of Canada is east also, but since the river doesn't go that far north, it's hard to define a cutoff point.
