They are technically edible, but reeeeeeeeeaaaaallly sour. You will want to process them into crabapple jelly or jam first.
Look for books on "foraging" or "wild foods" for good recipes. There are a lot of really interesting recipes and tips available.

if you water and fertilize them regular they will be health as can be! crab apples have been eaten for centuries,, google crab apple recipe!! they make great jelly!!

they taste sour, but you can make jelly from them, but they are great for throwing at each other.
