I'm wondering which one to buy? I'm both video game fan and music fan. I got the money to buy only one of them so It's hard for me to decide whether to buy a PSP (which can be used as an mp3 player but doesn't have an mp3 player quality and more importantly enough capacity) or a Creative Zen Touch 40 GB. If you were me which one would you choose?

I had the same exact problem last year. I had 300$ and was depating between the iPod (not the video... I think the color came out like a week after I got my iPod) ahhh I just gave away the ending. Anyways the only reason I chose the iPod was because a the PSP isn't worth 300$ (in my opinion) and then you need memory cards which adds on like 50$ for a small amount of music. And I didn't have 50 extra $. So I went with the iPod and was completly pissed when they came out with the video (like a month later), and since nothing was wrong with it I had no reason to return it.

In your situation.... I can't tell you what to do, for the simple reason that if you are unsatisfied it would be partially my fault. However I can remind you of some things.

1) The games for the PSP are about as good as the games for PS2 except scaled down (like Grand Theft Auto has a smaller map than the PS2).

2) The movies have NO EXTRAS. The movies coast as much as the DVDS but the DVDS have extras so you might as well get the DVD.

3) The PSP is fragile. You will need a screen protector ($10 and maybe even a skin (another $10). Thats $20 extra and I don't think that the Creative Zen needs one.

4) You can always buy a refurbished PSP for like $50 less ($150 total) and use the left over money for a cheap MP3 player.

5) The loading time for the PSP games is LONG. I mean LONG. Heres a video, it took 6 min + to load the game compared to the PS2, the PS2 takes 1 min tops.

6) The only time I use my MP3 player is when I go on the school bus or travel somewhere by car and don't feel like listening to the radio. During my summer I used it once during a road trip.

7) There is a big chance that the PSP will drop to $150 for a new core system. But Sony said that it will NOT happen before christmas.

Overall you won't use the MP3 player a lot. The PSP is still expensive at $200 and the Games and Memory sticks will coast you a lot of money in the long run, and remember you will need to buy headphones($30), a screen protector, a skin, for the PSP (unless you buy a bundle pack). If you do decide to buy the PSP I would wait for the price drop then get a refurbished PSP (which means that it's been used but the company thats selling it has to make sure that there are no scratches or dead pixels, another PSP problem). If you do that It'll coast you like $100 then you have $200 for memory sticks (a 1 GB will set you back $50 and it can only hold a little more than 250 songs I belive). But You probably don't have the patients.

Just remember that a core PSP system including headphones, screen protector, skin, 1GB ms is an estimated $300 same as the Creative Zen but the creative zen has 39 more GB. Then again you will probably only need 7 of those GB.

If I had the patients then I would by the PSP (remember Christmas is 4 months away and you can save up more money). If I really just want an MP3 Player then go for the Zen.

Oh, too bad. I have an iPod Video 60gb, PSP, Sidekick 3 (built in mp3 player), razr v3i dolce and gabanna gold special edition (built in iPod) Go with a cheap $50 mp3 player, and buy a PSP, or visit your local Rent A Center and rent-to-own your PSP.

I would buy the Creative Zen because the PSP while having video game functions it is a lot bulkier.

And probably won't fit into your pocket comfortably.

I would get the PSP for gaming and a cheap MP3 player for music. That way you get good quality sound and can still play games. I found my MP3 for about $30.00.
