I am under the age of 16 so dating isn't that life changing but I still want to have some experience. There is a guy at school is a bit nerdy but really sweet and he's plenty popular. He's been one of my better friends since Grade 1 and I like our relationship but sometimes he hints and sometimes he won't talk to me at all. I don't know if I like him considering I'm too shy to be rejected. Is there a way I could find out if he likes me or not?

ask a friend to ask him if he likes you. its that easy. that way if he says no then it wont hurt as bad.

Whatever you do DON'T send a friend over to ask that question! That is way uncool! If you have been friends with him for so long it seems as if it "should" be easier to talk to him..... Could you put yourself in some group semi-date situations - like a group of you go to the mall or to a school ballgame and based on the group of people you invite make sure that the two of you are lumped together somehow? If you have some time in some situations like this you may never need to say a word - things might just happen on their own... they usually do.

Boys at that age are hard to read. They can like you one day and not like you the next. That's just how it is. If you really want to know, get one of your friends to ask him for you. But have her pretend that the question didn't come from you. She could say: "Hey! So tell me the truth... would you ever consider going out with (your name here)?"... or "I heard a rumor that you like (your name here)... is it true?" Again, boys at that age are very immature so it's hard to tell. The best way is to just ask him. But if you're shy, then go the other route.

maybe u can try those quizzes on seventeen.com that asks, 'does he like u?'
being shy to be rejected is normal. u have to see from a third person's point of view and see if his hinting is for the reason u want.
ask a friend to ask him if he likes u. or at least notice if he does. do not ask him in person, he mite just be shy. ask him by email or messenger.

sometimes it's best to stay friends than become boyfriend and girlfriend. Why? well think about how good your relationship is now, now think how it is going to be if and when you get with him and then your relationship take a bad turn then you're going to lose your best friend and a lover. now think for a moment would you rather wait til you're ready for a relationship and experience it with someone else?

Just stay friends for now. If you are curious about his feelings, ask him. Or, ask him to do something with just you like go to the park or just hang out, see how he acts. Enjoy his company and if it's meant to be more than friends, it will turn into that soon enough.

it's in the way he looks at you. the girl i liked and now love and desire to marry, could tell just by the way i looked at her. i got a big silly smile and lost my words everytime she came near me. i was scared to ask her out but one day i did, she accepted thank God, i would have been crushed otherwise. but if you realy want to know look at the way he looks at you, does he act different around you, does he try to impress you with stories or what he can do? if so then yes i would say he is interested in you and wants to be with you, maybe as a friend maybe more. one way to find out, just be brave and ask, it's hard but it works.

omg. I ttly no what your going through. I'm 14 and i had the same problem once. heres what worked best for me. you can do a few things. like ask one of your frends to ask him what he thought about dating you. or you can give him hints instead of the other wy around. trust mesweetie if you were meant to be together then it will happen. jst be patient. trust me.

you may be afraid but if you have some guts, you will go to this dude and tell him how you feel, and hopefully he feels the same way about you.
You will never know unless you give it a try, and dont be afraid, is a risk worth taking
