best thing for a burn is aloe vera gel-it can be placed in the fridge to chill it so it feels soothing as it's applied

please DO NOT apply ANY food products, oils, ointments or lotions to the burn area-these actually trap heat it-making the burn worse and causing dehydration and can also lead to infection!!

wash well with cool water and mild soap (dove or ivory). using anything with dyes or perfumes in it will irritate the burn

you can take ibuprofen to help with the pain and swelling. take 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours

if the burn is blistered or open-you need to be seen within 24 hours so you can get silvadene cream. it's a zinc oxide based cream that is designed to help heal the burn and help fight off infection. it's only available by prescription

feel better soon!!

The best treatment that you can do to make them feel so-much better is go to your local Walmart or a Health Food store-like a GNC and ask them for some aloe vera Gel-it must be the gel it's a clear thick substance and when you get it put it in the refrigerator or your freezer until it gets really cold, put it all over your hands, if you have a clean white towel or sheet to gently and loosely wrap your hands up while this is on would be a good idea, stay away from any thing else a putting on your hands this will work wonders.ALOE VERA GEL IT WILL REALLY HONESTLY HELP-HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER REAL SOON.

Do not put any kind of oil on it like cooking oil or butter. What you need to do is to put it under running COLD water or put something really cold on the burn. Try frozen vegtables in the plastic bags or ice in a zip lock bag. Trust me on this I know b'cause I have burnt myself many times real bad with hot liquids. It will hurt for a day or so but use the cold water and anything cold on your hands and it will start to feel better.
Using oil or butter is a myth, it actually makes the burn feel worse after it sits on the hand. Also, don't cover it up, keep it free of any bandages, Use cold!!!

If it is really a bad burn go to doctor or emergency room. If it's a mild burn the first thing you should have done was put cold water on it. But since that is too late now, stay away from butter. Go to you local drug store and ask for a burn ointment. Don't use home remedies.

The first aid for burns it to immediatly run cold water over the sight to get the heat out so no further damage can result. The next step depends on the degree of burn you have recieved.
If you develope blisters do not break them but cover them lightly with gauze and take tylenol for the pain.

See the site below to help determine the amount of damage...hopefully, you have already sought professional medical attention. Use of burn cremes (ungentine) may be helpful...depends upon how deep the damage is. A mild scald to the hands should probably be cared for by using topical cremes and covering the hands with a soft, white glove for two weeks...also, avoid further damage by using rubber gloves for showering/bathing. It should heal within a couple of weeks.

my grandmother always told me that mustard takes the burn out, it's kinda messy and stains your skin, or you could use some ocean potion for like sun burns or some aloe vera with lidocain in it.
