some do some don't in a free society it is the responsibility of the individual to be well informed.
Anyone who relies on the media on television solely for information is short changing themselves.
People who fault the media for misinforming to them are shirking their duty and individual responsibility as members of a free democratic society to remain well informed.

I think they know a bit, but the government lies to us a lot. America isn't what it used to be. We have little control or say at what our government does. Example: 1,000,000 more people voted for Gore, but Bush won. We are also subject to censorship in the media. With 9-11.... I never saw one person dead (not that I wanted to), but I found it truly odd that I could watch tv almost continually for 14 days and never see any carnage. Our media here censored it. It just made me wonder how many more things our country is hiding from us. It made me wonder what horrors we may be doing around the world that we just don't know about. It's very sad. All I can say to other countries is that I'm sorry that America is not the America Americans think it is. Peace :)

"I know I'm not supposed to ask this, but"
THEN DON'T, YOU IDIOT!!!! JEEZE!
But, to answer your question - the fact that so many people voted for Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004 supports your apparent conclusion that a lot of Americans really don't have a clue, as does the fact Clinton got not 1 but 2 terms and the fact his wife even now is a United States Senator. Howerver, compare and contrast that with the fact that Bush won the last 2 elections FAIR AND SQUARE despite massive vote fraud BY THE LEFT and attempts to question the legitimacy of the elections by LOSERS and the fact the right still has control of both houses of the Congress and you can see there is still hope.
But yes, we are being lied to by the left-leaning media in general. They say Isral is an aggressor who commits war crimes. They saw we are losing in Iraq (even as captured terrorist communications there all but admit total defeat). They say no WMD were found in Iraq. They say all sorts of things and try like hell to inject racism and class into issues so their foolish drones will act emotionally, irrationally, without thinking. The right CONSISTENTLY tells us - think first, think for yourself, get the facts, draw your own conclusions, decide logically, not emotionally. The left says HATE HATE HATE BUSH LIED HATE HATE HATE WE'RE ALL DOOMED HATE HATE HATE WE'RE LOSING OUR FREEDOMS AND SECURITY!!! BE AFRAID!!!!
I don't know about you but by my reconing more attacks against American interests were launched during 8 years of Bill Clinton than during all the years of GW Bush, Ronald Reagan and GHW Bush combined.... I feel more secure under GW Bush than I EVER did under Clinton and I rue the day the Democrats win back either house of Congress or the White House despite the fact I openly admit Bush and the Republican Congress have made plenty of mistakes.

Clueless Americans are absolutely clueless.
The average 6 year old Chinese girl has more knowledge of world affairs than College level Americans.
When asked Americans can not name any government officials name other than Bush and sometimes Chaney.
No speaker of the house No Cabinet names No Generals in the Joint Chief's. Americans are incoherent buffoons.

It's not that they are being lied to that's the problem, it's that some here want to be lied to and then lie to themselves. I asked this the other day, because my British friends have a healthy disregard for their government and never accept anything unless their is proof. We need that here.

We're being lied to. The people of America see what's going on and are incredibly dismayed. Our government and political structure is SO "Big Government" that it is out of the common man's hands! We all have to wait for the next national elections in 2008.

My dear human fellow
Thats a good question!
it is hard to know what is right and what is wrong around us!
But
U can know and distinguish things after considering that:
***Media and politics and all kind of information is Controlled and Owned By "Zionists".....
Read about zionism first and u can gues the rest!!
So...knowing the truth will be a little hard!...but u will also find another side of the story!.....judging with your mind!!will do the best!!
Example: israel and arabs...
thats your homework!.....media will show israel as a harmless being and arabs are retarded angry terrorists with their women tied to the chair and masking her face with a veil!!!.........but the truth is......arabs and jews has been living in peace from the beging of the two cultures ...untill.....the declaration of Israel by the Zionists!...then...Boom boom Splash!!....war over here occupation over there killing here rape there.!!!israel is feeding on the arabs and Commiting GENOCIDE!!!!!!!!.....thats the truth.....
Go for yourself and try CNN you will find that israel is peacful and arabs wants to remove it!!!! hahahahah!!!
the truth is our arab women is as educated as you are and as pretty as you are and dresses the same dress the western woman dress!!!but its the media again!!!!.....

They know what they want to know - which is damn little outside protecting narrow minded interests - those that still support Bush that is. Hopefully the rest realise what a mess they are in internationally and will do something about it sooner rather than later.
Yes they are being lied to but aren't we all.

Why aren't you supposed to ask? I very well aware of what is going on around me. I always verify my facts and make my own decisions.
