When all doors close on you the doors of your friend opens, it is true, friends are chosen when they reflect us in views, interests and thinking. Friends are fun to be with, when everyone says we are worng they say "you are right, we will support you". they help express our deepest desires. And our deepest desires are who and what we are in real.
Friends are a social support to us, to lean back, they divide our sorrow and multiply our joys.
There is a saying ..tell me the number of friends you have and i shall tell you your mental health. Yes the more friends we have it says what a wonderful person you are, friends flock to you, it means you have to be a good person that they choose you to be a friend. Loosing a friend is difficult because in friendship you are treated as equals if you are loosing a friend then i would say there was no friendship in the first place, everything sinks except friendship!

Friends are often the most valued relationships we have. It's great when our spouse, significant other, children, etc. are also our friends, but as you know this is not always the case.

The significance of it for me is there is this other person that really knows me as well as I allow myself to be known, and loves me no matter what. We share a part of our self with our friends that we don't share with others, and sharing that part meets a real need, and satisfies a longing deep in our soul.

Good, lasting friendships require effort, sacrifice, and maintenance, so they affect us a lot. But the really, really good ones are worth all the effort.

Losing a friend hurts, and gaining a friend requires effort and the willingness to risk ourselves. If I have only one friend and lose them, then that's more important to me at the moment of loss than gaining another. But in the long run I want at least one friend, so it becomes equally important at some point to gain that friend.

I have only a few friends, and only one really close, close friend, so friendship is very precious to me.

We need friends because we are social beings. Friendships can affect a person positively or negatively, depending on the situation. Most people only keep friends who are positive in nature, but even the best of friends have hard times. To me the significance of friends is that I have someone who I can confide in, and who can confide in me. It fulfills a need we all have. Depending on how good the friend is determines how important it is to lose them. Some friends are just aquaintances and if we don't talk to them much, it is ok, but if we lose a close friend, we grieve them as we might a family member.
