I personally recommend Psycho cybernetics, Power of the Sub-conscious mind, and Think and Grow Rich. All fabulous classics that discuss the subconscious mind and how to use it to get what you want in life. Anything dealing with utilizing one's full potential can't be beat.

That totally depends on what it is you want to achieve and what type of personality you have. For people with very analytical, problem-solving-oriented thinking, I think 12 step books are great. For those who want to hear inspiring stories and want some little ideas on how to make their lifestyles a little better, I would recommend Dale Carnegie. There's so much out there and I think, as long as it's practical, almost any of it can be utilized.

I agree that Maxwell Maltz's 1963 Psycho-cybernetics is the only good self improvement book out there. I watch for Think and Grow Rich. I would avoid anything that has to do with 12 steps as research shows they are no more successful than anything else, and often even less successful.

How I found freedom in an unfree world by Harry Browne is great.

Dianetics sucks.

Though, I liked other Hubbard books.
