No city ever stays the same. Cities are always evolving. New Orleans is New Orleans then, now and forever. It will never lose it's cache, and its mystery and history continue to grow.

No, it'll take time. But even after 10 or 15 years, I'm sure the people that lived there before will never feel the same security and passion they did for the old New Orleans.

I certainly hope not.
New Orleans was built on land which is below sea level. It was surrounded by dams and dykes the Army Engineers examined several times over the past decades and issued numerous warnings about their inadequacies. The city was an inevitable disaster just waiting to happen - and the local government knew it.
With the amount of federal money now bring expended on the rebuilt effort, I would surely hope it emerges a much better and safer city.
Time will tell.

No i don't believe New Orleans will eve be the same. It might come close but never how it was in the beginning. Hundreds of people don't want to return to New Orleans because of fear that it might happen again. Not to mention the government's delayed reaction in getting help to those people.

No, I believe there is too much corruption going on down there. The mayor and the governor can't coordinate anything as they proved during the hurricane. I only see special interest areas being rebuilt the correct way. The people that made up the city are gone.

No, it is past due to be gone in fact. Next big storm will finish the job. Frankly, trying to rebuild a city that is already under water means they deserve all the pain, suffering and death they get the next time around.

after years of healing, yeah, soon the whole incident will just be part of our textbooks. Of course we have all been affected by it, but its like when somebody dies...u remember them and move on with life.
