Alpine Meadows and Kirkwood.

Alpine meadows is like squaw valley but a little smaller with less crowds. It offers everything you need without the hassle of crowds and is a little cheaper than the big tahoe resorts.

Kirkwood gets the most snow in tahoe so if you like powder this is the resort for you. Kirkwood is my first choice when I go to Tahoe.

It depends on what you are looking for...Heavenly, Squaw Valley, and Alpine Meadows are all big-mountains with a lot to offer. Those three are all awesome. If you are looking for a family place to ski, Diamond Peak is your best bet...Mt. Rose is good if you want a lot of carving runs with a chance to ride the chutes (Double-black diamonds-totally fun). There are also some other good places...if you have any questions or anything you can email me at snowbase33@yahoo.com cuz i live right next to tahoe

Alpine Meadows and Kirkwood. Alpine meadows is like squaw valley yet a sprint smaller with plenty a lot less crowds. It elements each and each difficulty you want devoid of the worry of crowds and is a sprint more beneficial inexpensive than the great tahoe lodges. Kirkwood receives the most snow in tahoe so in case you want powder that's the lodge for you. Kirkwood is my first decision mutually as i move to Tahoe.

Go on a weekday, you will be able to ski anywhere without much of a line. Most of those areas are great. I've skied Squaw, Alpine, and Heavenly, they were all awesome. I especially liked Alpine and Heavenly.

I've heard Kirkwood is good though.

Heavenly and Squaw are definately the best, but everybody knows it so the lift lines are bad. Ticket prices are high too. The smaller resorts(Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Kirkwood, homewood, etc.) still have pretty good skiing but shorter lines and smaller prices.

Alpine meadows sucks, it is a small mountain with bad weather that often closes the whole hill. you want somewhere like squaw valley or Heavenly. Mt. Rose is good for the cheap crowd and there is nobody there
