This is a link to USGenWeb. It is one of the best free genealogy tools online. Click on the states link. Go to the state you want. Click on the county you want. Depending on how well supported your county is, you may find cemetery indexes online. If not, the next thing to check is contact information for the County historical society. Contact the historical society and see if they have county cemetery records. Some will just send you the information you want and others will ask for a small fee to cover the copying.

I've had to research this question before. The best resource is http://www.findagrave.com/ Although international in scope, it has little data from outside North America.
