some of my friends say that it is also a sissy sport

You my friend are correct.

Make sure you say something to the effect of "In your face" when you show them the evidence.

My son and his friends play it all the time for hours at a time. They work up an appetite, burn calories, have fun competing in teams. I vote that it is a sport and an excellent form of exercise.

We all define "sports" differently. To me, Ultimate is a sport.

But what about golf? Competitive dancing? Curling? Darts?
Are those all sports?

Everyone has their own lines to draw...you can't say it's "true" or "false".

it's a sport, but not popular. In a few years i think it will develop to be a big sport around the world.

If it makes you sweat, and there is competition involved. It is a sport! Wikipedia calls it a "competitive non-contact team SPORT played with a flying disc"

It is what hippies do when they are not smoking pot.

But you do run around a lot so it's at least exercise, perhaps a sport. You do have teams & keep score after all...
