i would use a lot of anger and give them "the look" i always do....[i buck my eyes wide and stare at them for exactly 4 secs] that usually works. but the way u get over it is by talkin to a good friend of urs about it, they usually would tell u what's best

1. I try to evaluate WHO is giving the critisism
2. I try to evaluate HOW they are feeling? mood?
Those two things usually cue me in how to respond.
1. Some one I love, in a calm mood? Swallow my pride, try to hear what they are saying.
2. Someone I love, being grumpy/tired? Be patient with them, ask to talk about it later. If they keep talking, change the topic, put on a movie, go in the other room.
3. Someone I am not close to, rational mood. Give it some critial thinking. Are they saying it to hurt or help? If they said it about someone else how would I feel? Then decide if I need to address myself.
4. Someone I am not close to, in a bad mood. Try not to "get it on me". Realize that although I have had the unpleasant experience of that limited exposure to them, they have the unpleasant experience of BEING themselves 365 days a year. Feel better.
