When was the last time a democrat made a decision about anything. They are good a imposing the fear factor but never have a solution to our nations problems. Why, because they don't know how to think for themselves. Kind of reminds me of a society that has a problem with free independent thought. Kind of reminds me of a police state mentality. Socialist fits well for democrats. I'd even say communist fits even better. I bet you dems cried your red eyes out when the Berlin Wall came down.

I am a registered indpendent - I don't vote the party line EVER I vote the candidate and the issue and who backs the candidate or is pro/con on the issue doesn't bother me. I think for myself. That said, my parents were intelligent, proud, lifelong Democrats who quit the party in disgust some time ago as they took a hard turn to the left towards socialism/communism and, I'm sorry to say, TOTAL IDIOCY AND INSANITY. This does not mean there are not anti-socialist Democrats out there - they are just a shrinking minority who have little hope of regaining control of that once-great party. To those who have ;problems with the Republicans, I say yes, that party is not perfect either but it is NOT a bunch of Facists nor is it the party of big corporate world raping greed as suggested - Al Gore and John Kerry (who's wife is big in a global corporation, in case you didn't know) fit that description better than Bush and many Republicans. You Democrats who point fingers at the Repubicans and sneer forget who's in your closet - Nancy Pelosi, Barbra Boxer, Ted Kennedy, to name a few. I could go on. Outright criminals like Jesse Jackson and his ilk. Even now the left is recycling the lie that the 2004 election was "stolen" by the right as an election ploy. I wonder what state they will target when they fail in the 2006 and 2008 elections? And they will fail until they find a clue or buy one with their ill-gotten fortunes they claim are signs of being corporate tools when it's the right they are talking about but which they conveniently ignore when the money is in their pockets!
To the idiot that said "what's wrong with sharing" and called it standing up for the common man, marxism/leninism/socialism/communism all do look great on paper. When I read about them I'm all for them. But the problem is when you IMPLEMENT them human nature kicks in and they fail. As soon as you offer someone a handout they expect it and become dependent on the government. Look at post-Katrina New Orleans. Everyone said it was the government's fault they didn't have the sense or resources to leave town. When I lived there I knew the threat a Katrina storm posed. WE talked about it regularly. The first thing I did was formed a plan, and put aside the resources, for a quick escape in the event of a Katrina type storm approaching. Anyone who expects to be bailed out by the government deserves what little or nothing they get when crunch time comes.

What a joke. The entire country has taken a hard shift to the right after the last 20 years. Democrats of today are like republicans of 20 years ago, and the republicans are so right-wing now that the country is imploding in a mushroom cloud of greed.

I'm sure some Democrats are actually more Socialistic in their views, but they are by no means the same thing. It's like comparing Republicans to Fascists. Not accurate.

... it's like asking when will conservatives admit to being fascists?
there are clearly parts of both parties that lean to the extremes of both sides... but to assume the entire party is extremists is no better than the liberal that calls all republicans Nazis...
oh well... I guess between you and that guy... it all evens out...

You give democrats too much credit. They are communists. There is nothing closer in a free society that represents communism more than left wing liberals. Totally against free thinking.
