"Flight of the Valkyries". There was a file being passed around usergroups back in the early 1980s that played "Flight of the Valkyries" on the built-in PC speaker that old 8088-type motherboards had. There were various other subsequent files that eventually resembled speech and other songs, but this one was the first.

edit: Technically that's not the internet, but it's pretty damn close. To better answer the question, it would probably be better to know if it was an actual song or a MIDI/MOD/S3M recreation...

Woah. thats a great question, so first I had to figure out when downloading off the internet first acame, which was 1983, so probaly...a disco song...

rasion_of_the_celadon is correct. My dad was a computer guy way back when, and I remember him showing it to us and almost crapping himself over it. The year was appx 1986.
