I think the media sometimes makes characters out of people. I am sure TO has done his part to make it easy for them, but ESPN and other media groups seem to have it out for this guy. The same thing with Barry Bonds and Baseball and Iverson in basketball. When something goes wrong in the sport, somehow it always goes back to these guys...I just don't think it is fair. They paint a villian out of these guys without any type of Journalistic integrity or social concern. They create a truth they want people to believe in order to sell ratings. Babe Ruth was worse than any of these guys, Jordan was a known gambler, yet Pete Rose gets kept out of the hall....wtf.... Are our heros and villians real, or created by Dan Patrick?

True the media makes heroes or villains, but TO has given them plenty of help. Mainly he's obnoxious, and self-centered but for the most part harmless. I like the examples you cited and you can add Floyd Landis to the list along with Mark McGwire, notice how they are treated with kid's glove.

Of course not he's just not nice to the media so they hate him.

by the way how many times do you hear about how selfish QBs are, you don't because its OK for a QB to cry like a girl.(mcnabb)
be a bad teammate(favre - when asked wether he was going to show their young QB the ropes of the league he said no). Forget the team he dosen't want to lose his job. not to mention the situation between him and javon walker, now his team has no recievers because he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Also when i play basketball agianst scrubs i push them around to. they were playing basketball, even though you weren't in brooklyn. street basketball is rough all over the world, if you want to cry go play baseball. you should have just said you wanted to just shoot around, isn't taht what you guys usually say.

Did you see Parcells and T.O. on TV today the media tried to bait them and they both acted like it was no big deal. the pplayers don't care until the regular season anyway. as long as TO goes all out during the season, which he always does no matter how much he hates his QB, they won't have a problem.

Jordan never bet on basketball, not really the same thing. but since pete never bet against his home team he should be let in the hall of fame, and if not take his 3000th hit jersy out of cooperstown.

Naw, he's just a spoiled, lazy brat all grown up. There are no villians or heroes because everyone has a selfish\selfless side, the only difference is what side is showed most often.

i think people make him out to be an asssshole, leave it there for him to mull over, then he takes it to a whole new level. he's basically full of his own shittt and loving it. his teammates hate him, he's pissing off even his own coach and for what? ratings? more ammunition to bring with him to the negotiation table? he's not stupid but he's not too bright either. he's in a very good situation and he has yet to realize it and will continue this way until he's jobless or playing for the arena football league.

He does have an attitude and ego problem. When he came to my place of employment (EA Sports) to hang out, he used to walk around like he owned the place, never wanted to interact with us, always rejected autograph requests and played "street ball" against our recreational basketball players during lunch. He used to dunk the ball while knocking our co-workers around like we were on the streets of Brooklyn or something.

I think he is an unbelievable specimen and an unbelievable athlete but he is an assshole - he brings alot of the heat on himself and if could ever remove the chip from his shoulder, he might be more of a clubhouse guy - is he good? can he play? of course but even his teammates get tired of his shitt

He is the one that created the image. Sorry, but he's a buffoon. Can't blame the media for this one.

F T.O.

Granted that journalists are mostly scumbags but so are a lot of athletes & public figures so they can both burn together for all I care.
