I accidentally unplugged my computer a couple of weeks ago. I worked with Dell to get it back up, but my printer does not work.
I have re-installed the HP driver/software. But near the end of the installation, I get a message saying the RPC isn't working. HP won't help me because my warranty expired a couple of months ago.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Remote Procedure Call (RPC), The Print Server is dependant on this service.. It's Located in Services on the PC, Start, Run, msconfig, services, check to see if the box is ticked next to RPC, if not then click it, apply, restart..
To Enable Services in XP:::::::
Click the Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on Administrative Tools.
Click Services.
Once the Services window has loaded, you will be able to turn on any needed services.
Find the service that's required and select it with the mouse.
Right click and select Properties.
Once the Properties windows has loaded find the Startup type drop down box and select Enable.
Go to the service on the main screen, and left click the service once to highlight it, then to the upper left of the services you will see the options to Start This Service, Make sure it's Started, if not click on Start ( It will be blue, and underlined ).
Then finally click Ok
Close Services, and restart the computer
The computer will start with the abled services being loaded.
Good Luck

Uninstall the printer and all the software associated with it, unplug the printer power and cable, Reboot the computer, and install the Hp software again, and then plug the printer back in...That should work...if you have any questions, just email us through Yahoo...

First try to uninstall (after unplug) all driver of printer. Then retry!
If it is same, then try your printer to use with another computer (install drivers) If it is same again your printer is down.
Go buy another new one, getting repaired istoo much expensive!
