Good move. The Warriors are loaded with offensive players that play little or no defense. That's Nellie's specialty. Has the option to mix and match his lineups b/c Murphy can play PF or C in a Nellie offense, Dunleavy can play anything but center in his system, and he has the option of starting Davis and McLeod or Davis and Ellis at the guards with J-Rich at SF. Nellie could have some real fun with this team. Like I said earlier, they don't defend, and the one guy that does may never touch the court b/c I don't see how Foyle fits with Nellie. So, improved scoring may not get them into the playoffs b/c they aren't going to stop anyone. Also, the West's last playoff spot is going to be a tough spot to get into with the Rockets being back, the improvements made by the Hornets, the T-Wolves improving, and the Jazz having Boozer for the whole season. Looks like you're going to be forced to suffer between the Raider's and A's seasons again.

Well the Warriors have nowhere to go but up. They were probably the third most talented and expensive team, behind NY and Philli, that sucked as s last year. Mike Montgomery is a certified b i t c h. After a loss last year, the entire team had a meeting just to tell Montgomery that they didn't have his back and that he was a puss y. So I think signing anyone was a good idea. Don Nelson is great, though, because he is increadibly offensively-minded and he can win with no defense, exactly what the Warriors have. As long as B-Diddy doesn't bi tch and moan like in NO, Mike Dunleavy starts playing like his dad, and either Patrick O'Bryant, Ike Diogu, or Andris Biedrins decide to step it up a notch, the Warriors can probably make a splash as a low seeded team

Good move, because the warriors didn't really have much to lose anyway. The only problem is that Don Nelson didn't coach defense with Dallas, which is why the mavs are a better defensive team with Avery Johnson.

I say good move. Nelly is just what Golden State needs to exploit Baron Davis and Jason Richardson to their fullest offensive potential. At best, he could turn those two into the best back-court tandem in the NBA. Don Nelson an offensive genius.

I think they made a good move. Nelson is a great coach and the guys that were for him, that answered this question, gave you the same skinny I would have. Have a good season win or lose. I bet some games will have you on the edge of your seat. Great feeling is it not??

See Larry Brown. Nellie is close in age to Larry Brown. Nelson left coaching due to health problems and burn out If he can handle the stress of the 82 game season it may work.

Its good or should i say better than who they had.
P.J. is going to have to wait a lot longer for a coaching job. remember when spreewell choked him a lot of the players took spree's side thay said p.j. went to far. thats why he has not been head coach, thats also why he was a asst. coach on those U.S. teams, they thought that maybe he would click with some of the stars and get another chance. lets hope not.

Good for the short term, but not a long term fix. He won't want to coach more than a few years. I can't believe that he is giving up his relaxation time in Maui to coach a team again.

Full circle. haha. Warriors were in the playoffs; then Nelson draft Webber, a year after that, we haven't been there since.
It can't make things that bad.
