plant a ripe mature coconut, with or without the husk,, but it MUST have water (milk) inside the nut!! Most nuts found in stores or unripe and/or cracked and empty of the juices,,the internal water of a coconut is needed for the nut to survive the first six months of being planted!! it takes 10 years for a tree to mature so be patient for the fruit to show!!!

Hi,
Sorry to say you can't grow a coconut tree from a that you but at the super market. The coconut needs to have fallen from the tree to germinate. It also grows sucklings.
