This trade is kind of bizarre, you don't state which one you are in the trade (do you have Brees or Mcnabb).

Looking at the trade you have to look at the potential downfall (if you are trading Donovan):

Drew Brees and Caddy are coming off injuries.

Antonio Gates has a new QB who has never started a game his numbers could be affected, how effective he is in the red zone with an unproven QB (TD is truly what separate him from Jeremy Shockey) is going to be the question.

You make this trade if you have DECENT Depth already and want top level talent with risk!

The potential downside if you are trading for Donovan:

Donovan numbers from last year was on par with Peyton Manning numbers until his injury. Is he going to be able to reproduce those numbers coming off his injury.

Warrick Dunn is productive but his TD total has not been there in the past because of Duckett (who has since been traded).

Vernon Davis and Frank Gore are both unproven and have Alex Smith as a QB, whom need to grow leaps and bounds before either one of these playears can reach their potential (fantasy wise).

Trade for Donovan and Company if you need depth but not top talent.

Honestly, I am worried about any player who plays for the 49ers because of Alex Smith (I think he don't belong on the NFL field yet) so to me whichever side is getting rid of 49ers is getting the better side of the trade.

Don't believe these bitter clowns. Mcnabb is a fantasy stud especially if Stallworth pans out. Dunn will score more TDs this year with Duckett gone and Gore is a solid up and comer. Vernon Davis is a genetic freak and should be solid. Cadillac is good but is injury prone, Drew Bress still hasn't recovered totally from Shoulder surgery and lacks arm strength. The McNabb side is far superior even with Gates in the mix.

Ok lets see you got McNabb who just got a new toy in donte stallworth to play with and now all of a sudden went from having no passing game to a good passing game, you got dunn who just became the primary back in the atlanta offense because duckett got traded to washington and hes not splitting time anymore and you got possibly one of the upper tier tight ends in vernon davis if they can get him the ball. Brees has alot of weapons but is his shoulder healthy, Cadillac is also injury prone the bucs lean on him too much during the season he cant carry as many times as they want him too, if they can stop that they would be ok with him but they arent going to and gates is proven but the only value your getting out of the trade and your losing gore who might possibly start, I wouldnt do it it looks sweet but could leave your team crippled. Doesnt matter who your other starters are not a good trade.

That seems to be a pretty one-sided trade. If you are the one giving up Brees, Williams, and Gates then I would take it but only if you have another solid RB option.

Hint: Gates is good, but there are plenty of good TE options this season.

Drew Brees is too much of a risk to be traded for. His latest preseason outing showed that although his surgically-repaired arm is working well, his accuracy and power leave much to be desired. Add on to that the sudden shift towards a more running-based offense with the addition of Reggie Bush, and you have a recipe for disaster with Brees. Decline the trade and spare yourself the pain.

mcnabb vs. drew brees = bad
dunn & gore vs. cadillac = it's about even, but with lj at rb, cadillac will produce more than gore or dunn
vernon davis vs. gates = good

considering points, i wouldn't do it. mcnabb is way better than brees, plus mcnabb has stallworth now and brees lost stallworth.

I would not be to sold on starting Brees til you see how he plays the first couple of weeks! If you have a good option at QB I would take this trade

If you get Brees Williams and Gates do it but then you have a RB hole so make sure you can fill that.
