try install DivX Player, or it's Codec

Make sure you have a player that can play .avi files. Make sure have the latest version. Make sure you don't have two or more programs set to play AVI (this will cause confusion and the computer will do nothing).

if they are saved in divx format then they will not pay on windows media player. You need to install divx player (www.divx.com) or vlc player.
