Hoover Dam
Visit the western hemisphere’s highest concrete dam: 66 feet thick at its base, 726.4 feet high and stretching 1,244 feet across the Black Canyon. Constructed with 6.6 million tons of concrete in 1931, the dam was completed in 1935. It generates 1,344,800 kilowatts of hydroelectric power
I have been across it and it is indescribable

It sounds a bit like a REALLY BIG piece of concrete in southern Nevada. It plugs a gorge and holds back a damn river. Some engineers said a Boulder could be used to do the job but none that large were available north of Australia.
I heard that the first and last persons to die during the construction were father and son. Don't know if it is true or a myth but it is interesting.
BTW, I think technically the City is Boulder and the Dam is Hoover, and not after the Vacuum Cleaner Company either.
Good Day.

Wow, my guess was right! Hoover Dam!
I think it's cool that the state dividing line is at a place where you can stand on top of the dam and walk across it. And is that the time zone dividing line, too?
