If the fan is screwed up, you can replace it. It could be a messed up hard drive as well. If that's the case, you're in trouble.

What kind of noise?? Noise in a computer tower can be caused by a variety of sources. Most common is one of the fans in the unit. Power supply fan, CPU fan, or other cooling fans. I would pull the cover, and look at the fans. You might find a few dust bunnies, and other gremlins that will cause noise.

A whirring sound is usually caused by a fan either on the cpu or the power supply. Replacing the offending device will solve the issue. A clicking or clunking sound is usually the result of a hard drive failing. Backup your data to another location such as cdrw, another hd, usb drive, net or something similar then replace your drive. This may require new os install, reinstall of all software, etc.

If it is a buzzing sound, you don't want to fix it. It is probably a fan for one of your drives. It is there to keep things from overheating. Your computer tower will become a fire hazard if you don't have it in there. It may be annoying, but it is a small price to pay for safety.

firstly , you should clean out any dust in the power supply and tower case. also carefully dust off the CPU cooler. is it is a cooler fan, there is a sticker on the back of the fan casing, lift the sticker up carefully and lubricate the fan motor with automotive brake fluid using a syringe to apply the oil. works everytime.!!
ENJOY!!!!!

Oil! Take out your computers fan, peel of the sticker, put a drop or two of all purpose oil and put the sticker back on. It really worked for me.
