having sex? Do you think this is an area where parents need to give more guidance in? Like no drugs etc.?

About the only teens who would commit to that are Christians or ones who have promised themselves not to have sex until they are married. Those are few and far between, I'm sorry to say. But it's a great idea.

I stayed clear of drugs and drinking as a teen. It was until I was almost 20 that I started having a drink here and there and going to Canada for weekend fun. HOWEVER....there is little that can be done to stop teens from having sex or being sexual. I doubt most of them would commit to being around other to avoid it. Teens are horny and want to experiment and see what the big deal is. Parents just need to teach right from wrong. My mother told me if I'm going to do it, I should be safe. End of story. She told me I SHOULD wait, but if I have to, fine. Parents try to push values they didn't even follow as kids. MOST girls have respect for themselves, and some guys do too. It's teaching them that there are other and better things that sex is what needs to be done. Make them aware of the risks and hope they do whats right.

Hell no. I'm sorry but parents have to trust that the information you have given your kids is enough to stop them from having sex. Making sure the couple are never alone is making it worse, on everyone involved.

No... that isn't what growing up is about.

If you have to commit to being apart, you learn nothing about will-power. The true decision for abstaining comes from being together, and still deciding to wait.

Kids need to learn to make decisions, even if they're difficult, rather than learning to avoid them.

No, i wouldn't commit because i have self-control...and i'd gladly be alone with my gf (which i have like a 100 times)...and you can't talk to parents about this...it's kinda weird sometimes...you know....maybe to a lil' exent parents can give valid advice but not always....

No. I'm not willing to. I won't have sex until I'm married and I know that, but I will spend time with my boyfriend.

No... I love being alone with my boyfriend, but we still respect each other and we already know our limits.... we both are Christian and we have made the decision to wait.
