Hello,
You're going to have to go process of elimination.
Easiest things first.
1. Go to START > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices>
1.a. Tab VOLUME > check that everything there is as you like.
1.b. Tab AUDIO > button VOLUME
Check your MUTE setting, on screen and on your keyboard.
2. Make sure that your speakers ARE plugged in electrically, AND into the back of your computer.
>>>Sometimes the speaker wires can break inside, so you'll also need to get an alternate speaker and test that they work ok.
IF they do, then you know the problem IS with your speakers, and not a computer setting.
If the alternate speakers do NOT work, then the problem is with drivers or settings.
3. Unplug your speaker from the USB port, or other port in the back >
shut down computer >
replug speakers >
THEN restart computer.
Done exactly in that order, Your operating system should see your speakers as new hardware and solve any former glitches.
4. Go to your speakers manufacturers site and download the latest speaker drivers and install > then restart your computer.

1) Make sure the input cable on the speakers are plugged into the correct autdio jack in the back of your computer. Usually it's color coded GREEN.
2) Make sure the speakers are powered ON.
3) If still not working, check for a Speaker Icon in your tray (the tray is the area to the left of your clock in the start bar with all those little icons). If the little speaker icon is not present then the drivers for your sound card may not be installed. Download them from the manufacturers website and install.

Well there's a couple of things you can try. IF you have a subwoofer, make sure the button is ON....DOH...... (I did that one myself).
Another test is to test your sound card by using earphones. Try plugging in earphones in your earphone jack and see if you can hear sound through them. If you can hear sound from the earphones, then the problem is your speakers. If you can't, you have to go deeper....
You can go to (right mouse button click) on your My Computer and go to properties. Look for a tab or place when it says HARDWARE Device Manager (98 and XP are a little different). See if there are any (!) or (?)
My gut tells me that your speaker is loose or something. It COULD be your sound card too.... Make sure under your little sound icon that MUTE is not checked. Also try going to Control Panel under sound and try different kinds of sounds - to see if it's only a type of sound you don't hear.
Keep troubleshooting...... It could be a bad soundcard but could be too many other things......

your speakers are probably unplugged from your computer. it happens to mine sometimes. follow the cord coming from your speakers to it's base and see if it's unplugged... 90% of the time thats whats the problem. then just plug it back into the port where it was in originally.
if that doesnt work.. they could be blown and then you'll need new ones

Are the speakers connected the right way in the back...all connections working? Make sure you have the right sound card drivers, or check for IRQ and DMA conflicts...just a guess, hope this helps!

depending on your setup you may have to reinstall the sound card drivers or the sound card itself. First check all the cables and take out the sound card boot your pc and then put it back in then boot your pc to see if that helps. before you reinstall drivers and finally buy another sound card

Download the sound driver for it, that's what I did. Go to like a computer page and find your motherboard (like manufacter and all that) and see what the sound card is...then download it...
Sorry if it's not clear, I don't really remember, haha..
