I have a push mower that has developed a little rust on the blades. What can I use to get the rust off?

Depends on how much rust. Just a dusting of red can be hit with WD-40 and a wire brush. A little deeper and some Naval Jelly will get rid of the rust, followed by a file to smooth/sharpen the blade...again with the WD to protect it. If you use the mower frequently, it will wear the WD off with each use...you can either re-treat it, or get used to a little dusting of rust between mows.

I wouldn't worry about it, if you use your mower regularly, it will keep the rust worn down. If you want to seal for winter, just pass a wire brush over the rust and then coat the blade with a light oil.

I would use WD-40. Give it a thorough soaking and leave it on for a few hours before wiping off. The more important issue is to sharpen the blades. Best done professionally, but you can do it yourself using a fine grit sandpaper wrapped around a block of wood. Don't cut yourself.

a wire brush will remove the excess rust, and give the blades a good spray of wd40 afterwards and spray over the blades after you cut the grass in future..they should last longer and stay rust free...

You should AquaKlean. I used it on the entire underside of my mower and it worked great. http://www.kbs-coatings.com/AquaKlean-C32.aspx
