It's okay and completely normal, I felt that way and sometimes still do. You are at a transitional age in your life, about to leave the teen years behind and have more expected of you as an adult. Become more responsible, but keep your friends and keep doing what you like to have fun. And go ahead and cry over the innocence of kid's movies, just don't do it in a room full of guys. Someday you will have kids and you'll be able to see that innocence in their eyes and believe me, it's very rewarding and puts things in perspective. But don't have kids any time soon, wait a few years, heck you're still are a kid yourself!

I know exactly how you feel. I am only 13 and already feel that way. Whenever i look at my 7 year old brother, whenever he's playing or talking nonsense, and at christmas time, i think about how innocent he is and wish i was still that young. But I'm beginning to realize that there isn't anything i can do about it, that everyone grows up eventually, and that there are many exciting years to come, and one day i can be a mom and watch all the innocence happen all over again.

I'm 19 aswell, and 18 weeks pregnant. Sometimes I get sad about growing up aswell, but we don't have a choice, we will always have memories, and we can still do some of the silly things we use to enjoy, and find new grown up things we can enjoy that being a child we could not do before.

I believe what you are feeling is quite normal. No one ever really wants to grow up :) however we do. and that can be a great thing too! I know its scary because growing up means more responsibility. doesnt mean its a bad thing, actually a good thing !! it has opened doors for you to explore without limits! thats being a kid and eating your cake too! Dont worry about your sensitvity levels of this , it means you have a concious and will most likely make a great husband some day . We like the sensitive kinds! :)

I've passed a lot of age milestones now but none of them have been traumatic for me the way 19 - 20 was. I went through the type of crisis my friends who are turning 40 are going through and I thought I was the only one to feel that way.
You leave a lot behind when you stop being a teen... excuses for one thing, endless summers for another. Suddenly, you're expected to be mature in behaviour and to know what you're doing with your life.
I can tell you from experience that going through your midlife crisis at 19 makes everything from then on a downhill ride :)
Oh, and that whole growing up thing... most of us are faking it!!!

Hey this is the way I look at it as Im growing up: You're gonna grow up anyway but just because you're getting older doesnt mean that you still cant be a kid at heart. The future doesnt have to seem upsetting or bad. The your future could be great.

I'm 28 now and happily married. I had similar concerned when I was at your age. Did you know that you have 50 years ahead of you? and it's going to be excited and great if you have believe and make it happen for yourself. If you already believed that your life is doomed, I have one advise for you. Don't think too fast. Think one day at a time. Your life can change any moments. You never know what the future hold for you. Be positive.
