My family does not like her and have essentially caused her to not want to be with me anymore. She says she can't love someone who's family does not accept her. We are both in our mid thirties and both divorced. I really care about her and know we can be happy as our only arguments revolve around my family. Please help.

If you guys Love each other. Than be with each other. You just need to tell your family how you feel and that they should respect your decisions and be respectful while they are in the presents of her.

If your wife never caused any family problems, I don't know why they would dislike her. I have a son, I have always been close to until he married a woman, that keeps putting down everything our family does. Nothing any of us do, is ever right! Now none of us speak to each other because of her. Find out why your family does not like her. Maybe something went on between her and them you don't know about. I know Ive tried over and over to be nice to my daughter in law, but she always comes back with a smart comment about something. I'm done! You can only take so much from someone. See what went wrong between her and them, and go from there. We at least tried to make amends, but it never seems to work. GOOD LUCK for all of you!

Thats a tough situation. Sometimes you have to just live your life and do what makes you happy. You are in your 30's family really shouldn't make your decisions for you as far as who you are with at that age. You are going to have to pick. A woman you love or your family. That is very tough. I am sorry you are going through that.

I'm in the same boat. My wife is a stripper and my 2 daughters and her don't get along. My family doesn't talk to us and I don't talk to them. This has been going on for 2 years now and I really am pretty happy. Once in awhile I think about them, but usually just remember how they judge my life. I don't need them, and if they die or I do without talking again, I can live with that. Or die with that, whatever. You need to know it's your life and not theirs. Everyone gets one life and they need to do what makes them happy, not somebody else. If you have been together 3 years, that should be long enough for you to man up and decide...who you choosing? Life is meant to be happy, if they don't make you happy....move on bro!!!

I would say you need to stay away from the family if you love her that much. Im not accepted by my inlaws either, so I stay away from them. Theres no reason for me to not be accepted either, they just dont like me. Oh well....good luck man, do what you feel is right. Who cares what the family thinks. Your happiness is the most important thing.

well i think that u should talk to ur family about her. and show them what a really good person she can be. and then if they still dont like her AT ALL then u should make the decision... her or ur family! and i know its hard but it may be the only way... but first sit and talk with ur family and tell them that u dont appreciate the way that theyre treating u and ur partner! I'm really sorry to hear that....Why doesn't your family like her? Is she a different race? an alcoholic? ill- mannered? There has to be reason they don't like her. If you really love her and see a future with her then forget about what everyone's says. Go for her! Good luck!

it doesnt matter what your family think ,if you like her then go for it, tell your family to keep out of your business. if it doesnt work out between you two then fine but at least you can say you tried, otherwise you'll regret it for the rest of your life and end up resenting your family, good luck.
