Unfortunately, I see the U.S. as heading toward becoming a dictatorship unless the country as a whole pulls together and does something about the path they are on. It's a real shame because they've tried very hard in the past to do meaningful things, but now it seems that their agenda is becoming very skewed and unless some soul searching is done on a national level, the future looks very bleak.

It will be worse in some ways and better in other ways. With the 100 years war in the middle east, and 10 years from now it will be in it's 13th year, being a military veteran will have more appeal to companies than a bachelors degree. About 40% of the nation will have served some time in the military, up from about 10% what it is now. Military officers will be the leaders of this country in every faction from company ceo's, to congressmen, to bank managers etc.. Crime will be at an all time high, but just petty crime, as the more serious violent crimes will be dealt with in a much shorter time period resulting in public executions (Thank God). Small businesses will be squashed by large corporate competition, meaning more of a socialized economy. Rapes will be a more common practice, as scientific evidence will proove that women like to be manhandled. Gangs will be at an all time high because they will be most peoples only refuge, and people will be more willing to do anything to join a gang.

Technology will have taken leaps and bounds from this point in time till 2016, but people will still be the same. I will say this much, "the war" will be over or concluding by then and we will declare war on another country. Also as New Orleans was devastated this past year, Los Angeles will be hit by "the big one" and see similar damage to that great city.

I know where you are going with this. Imagine a new President trying to deal with our international partners.. Yes, Mr President, Yes, Mr President and all the time thinking 'leave the money and F..Off.' The issue of trust is going to be a major problem for the US in years to come. Just ask the British Government. Everybody wants to take but as long as it's from a distance.

Ten years isnt really that long of a time.It will be more of the same. People will be fat lazy and stupid. The dollar will get weaker. Our economy will continue its downward spiral. Our civil liberties will be continually eroded away until they are just a memory. Our children will need a calculator to add 2 + 2. America was designed to fail from the beginning.

Wouldn't be recognizable.

In a global economy, U.S.A. must lose it's identity.

This means other countries of the world will look a lot like the U.S.A., losing their characteristics and becoming carbon copies of Capitalist America, with the strip malls, and Mickey D's on every corner.

It will be a big, boring world one day.

It probably is like this already in many places.
