You have to study the history of America to understand the racism in this country. However, I think marginalizing people makes one feel better. It is so easy to bring people over to your side by saying negative things about a person or group of people than nice things.
How many people do you know will validate mean things you say against a person verses validating nice things?
Negativity is very empowering the world over. Look at all the hatred that goes on in the world.
I am very careful what I say about people now. Except I did make rude comments about TN earlier due to bad experiences there. So, my comments could easily cause people to distrust people from that state. See how easy it is to disseminate hate. It only takes one charismatic person to get a following of hatemongers.

Many times when people voice an opinion about a particular group of people, it can be construed as racial (i.e. the poor, illegal immigrants etc.) but if you look past all of the media hype on it, you will see that the core arguement is that people are fed up with either seeing their taxes going to people who aren't citizens when they should be going back to the community or just being fed up with people who always want to have the hand they hold out filled. The belief that they are entitled because they are a certain colour or nationality is what really burns many people up (including myself). It doesn't matter what skin colour or nationality they are, it's how they act in this country and how they treat others around them. Remember the phrase, "Treat others as you would like to be treated".

The people of the US are only the tip of the iceberg. There is more freedom in the US than anywhere else in the world when it comes to equality based on race. It is only because of the massive television coverage that we actually see what is put before us, which, in reality, only constitutes less than 10 per cent of the actual people in this country. What is perceived as racism can also be construed as being stricter in our interpretations of the laws of this land so that certain cultures aren't allowed to exist legally because of their different ways of dealing with morality. If a certain activity is against the law, then only those involved in the culture thereof is illegal, but it is perceived as racism when those laws are enforced. Too bad we all live in front of our television sets and cannot get out and be ourselves in public without being scrutinized, isn't it?

Because our minorites act like total fools for the most part. And by the way, the most racist people on earth are from the middle east or Australia. Big Bad America just gets torn down by jealous wheeny outsiders who will say anything they can to make us look bad.

well, alot of times the majority of a mean or annoying group is a certain color, but if u use the color of their skin to describe or "name" them, some will take it as a racist comment, so alot of times it is nt meant to be racist, alot of ppl are just mistaken wiht their words, but some ppl are sadly raised horribly, and assum that cuz someone is a certain color means they act a certain way.
