First of all you are not a racist, you asked a valid question. Second of all, yes a big percentage of Americans are racist but it is because of the way they were brought up. Another answer is Americans here people from other countries putting us down, or burning our flag and they(racist Americans) retaliate by using racism. Unfortunately racism is very big in this country.

i feel bad you are a victim of racism, but that does to excuse you using this question and answer forum as a soap box to preach to the ones who committed such atrocities on you. As if they will even read it. And the ones that are racist on here will just be more racist to you because their small minds tell them that is the best course of action. The more you preach the more they will fight you. Be the bigger person and learn from the experience and move on with your life. And if your going to ask a question then ask ... cause all you have succeeded in doing is riling up a bunch of inbred jeds who will now defend their right to be bigots and jerks.
i wish i could say something about hoping you'll never experience these prejudices again, but let's face it this is reality and there will always be people who need to belittle others (for whatever reason) to make themselves feel important. Be the bigger and better person and let them live with their delusions. Your best defense against them is to live your life and not let them affect you with their idiotic beliefs.

First off...spell check dude.
Second...I have found that a lot of the people whom are screaming racism are truly racist themselves. The expect special treatment for one reason or another. I am aware that there are folks in this and every country who are racist. I am also aware that they are the ones who get the most publicity and therefore, I believe, are the reason so many think racism is rampant. I live in the South and see racism on an every day basis. So many people scream reverse racism....no such thing racism is racism. Whether it is a black person against a white person. An indian against an asian....it matters not.
I would say....do not take everything so personally . You may find that the problem lies within yourself as much as without.

I haven’t seen any previous postings about this topic and am only trying to give a non-bias opinion to the question posed.....
So maybe......just a thought.......I know it's a touchy subject......but
Americans try very hard to own things as it gives them a sense of self-worth and their country being one of theses things is very precious to them. Which is why they show pride and devotion to the country and everything it stands for (which is not a bad thing) but it can sometimes be taken too far. Maybe ownership of their country is their pride and if they see someone who is "un-American" trying to take that away from them, then their first instinct is to defend that right of ownership and defend their country. Hence anyone who was not brought up as an American with American values and ethics would see that as being disrespectful.
So really it’s all about pride and what they believe in.

Why are you calling Americans racist? Disrespectful? Yes, Americans can be very disrespectful to others. That has to do with being taught self desires first. America has a whole does not have the right to be judged as racist or disrepctful on a national scale. Individuals are racist or disrespectful.

I'm not quite sure what your question is. I understand from your post that you agree that people are people, some bad and some good.
I do think the title of your post is a bit offensive as it suggests that Americans are generally racist rather than that being the exception.

Your question is like all over the place. I understand that you're angry at racist and disrepectful people but hey, they are everywhere in this world so try looking in your own back yard, for example and think about what your question really is.
