There's plenty of free reverse lookup sites out there such as:
http://www.ussearch.com/consumer/index.jsp
just click on the reverse phone lookup tab at the top, type in the number and there ya go. If the person hasn't had the number long, chances are it won't be in the system. If that's the case, just google reverse lookup for free sites or pay for one of the pay sites and get tons of information depending on the site. I wish I could tell you a good pay site to hit up, but I've never had to do that

if it's a business, just google the phone number with an area code
if it's an individual residence, try www.whitepages.com and look up reverse phone number...
if it's a cell phone, you are probably out of luck
