I have some in my aquarium and three have died during the last fortnight. They are about two and a half years old, are they dying of old age?

Probably of old age... maybe something wrong. Minnows usually don't even live that long, so probably old age...

Size: Up to 2 inches (5 cm)

Temperament / Behavior: Peaceful and best kept in schools of 6 or more.
Breeding / Mating / Reproduction: Easy. Give them a water temperature around 68°F and they will lay their eggs on the bottom of the tank. You will have to remove the adults because they will eat the eggs.
Tank Size: 5 gallon or larger.
Compatible Tank Mates: Many, given their generally peaceful nature.

My Dad has a White Cloud moutain Minnow and his name is Tim. I would say these fish would to live to a life span of 5-14 years. The little minnow lives with two other goldfish. Bubbles and peachy. they are fantails.

Thats a good age for them, around about 2 to 2half is about right
