If nobody does, then I claim them as my planets this moment.

If you want them and no one on Earth has claimed ownership, then by all means they can be yours. Ownership is abstract, especially in this situation. So if you make a deed to the planets and hang it in your home, then they belong to you. You dont need an international space agency to decide for you or a world vote. If you want them you can have them. however thousands of years from now, your title may be revoked or rather unobserved and taken without ever knowing you were the original owner. good luck

Nobody owns them. It is unfounded territory.
And I don't think you just claim them.
You would probably have to go there and declare it owned property. Then of course you would have to defend it against thieves and squatters.

You may even have to go so far as to develop a country and a government. Afterall, what if Canada wants one of the planets. They'll come after you, and you won't be able to stop a whole army on your own, even if it is against Canada. And what if it's on Jupiter? I mean, the gravity there is insane, it would be like you weigh 3,000 pounds. You wouldn't even be able to get around, making yourself even more vulnerable. I mean, in the long run you're really better off without the planets. Just think of all the landscaping you would have to do.

By international treaty, no one does. Kind of like Antartica, all the nations have agreed to use them for scientific reasearch only.
